The Process
Private Intake Questionnaire
Each partner receives an extensive questionnaire and a few consent forms to complete individually before we meet. With compassion and care I review your responses before your first session.
Initial Individual Sessions
When working with couples, I schedule one individual session with each partner before the couple's work. This is a space for you to share your story, your experience and your hopes for sessions.
Begin Couples Sessions
The foundation for the work has been laid. Now we jump into the couples work. Chelsea typically recommends weekly or biweekly sessions starting off to build momentum.

Client Review
“I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for us and continue to do. The intensive shifted our marriage so much just in the week since we’ve seen you. Your work in the world truly is so important and desperately needed. You’re so good at what you do, and we’re so grateful you’ve found space in your calendar for us! I have an immense amount of gratitude for you as I believe you’ve helped us begin to really repair our marriage, and it feels so good!”
COUPLES INTENSIVE COUNSELING
You’re at your wits’ end and feel hopeless.
Maybe you’ve had the same challenges for months, even years, and nothing is changing.
You’ve read the books, tried the exercises, maybe even tried traditional couples counseling, but nothing yet has worked.
There is hope. An intensive might be a good next step.
FAQs

I do not accept insurance. Insurance companies often don’t view a couple's work as “medically necessary” for insurance coverage. Therefore, couples counseling is not billable to insurance and is considered a privately paid service.
You may have out-of-network benefits that allow you to receive partial or full coverage for the fee - I can give you a “superbill” to submit to your insurance to seek reimbursement. I do accept HSA and FSA.

This depends on your needs and goals. Every clients circumstances are different. Some come looking for short-term support others are seeking out long-term support. We will discuss the frequency of visits that best fits your needs. In general, I recommend beginning with regular visits to build momentum and then evaluating progress and adjusting as we go.

Yes. Often couples contemplating divorce are trying to discern if there is valid hope for lasting change in their marriage. This can be very difficult to determine on your own. There is good evidence to suggest that with the proper help and willingness on the part of both spouses, many marriages that might otherwise end in divorce can become healthy, vibrant, and supportive. That being said, there are times when separation or divorce is the healthy choice. I help individuals and couples find clarity, peace and a path forward, whether divorce, separation, conscious decoupling or making changes to stay together.
